Another Year in the Republic featured artists Jan Dickey met over the stretch of a decade in different parts of the United States. Their art practices have an ongoing influence on the way he sees this complicated country. It was Dickey's hope to create a constellation of different perspectives and bring them into conversation with his own work of sorting through what it means to exist within the US. Collaborating with studioninedee's space in Chelsea (508 W. 26th St. New York, NY), this work was presented in the week running up to the 2020 presidential election.

2020 was another year around the Sun; but for those of us within these increasingly fortified boundaries, it was yet another year in the republic.
